My travel notes...contd..

Jan 13, 2014

I know, memories fade away with time, like a sand sculpture made on a beach. I have very little time to follow my memory lane to the minutest detail. Every passing day, my mind is like a village hit by a cyclone – forced back to where it all began. The effort to think also doubles. And so with least delay, here I start again.

I opened my eyes as the huge analog clock had rung three times in symphony. As I looked at it, the needles stood in a perfect disciplined right angle.  Vipin was sitting at the chair next to my feet, earphones plugged to his ear, listening to his favorite tunes. The speaker at the top left corner sprung into action, virtually screaming a familiar three toner, a pre cursor to a railway announcement. Our train was expected to arrive in the next 5 min.  The rather gloomy waiting room saw some movement as people who had occupied it like refugees began straightening up, to move to platform no 5, for catching the much awaited and late running train. A distant hoot accompanied bt the approaching flash light seem to lighten up the dull faces, and within no time, the roaring locomotive stopped with a metallic screech in front of us, like a tamed elephant waiting for its master to board,  with its knees bent. Thanks to the efficiency of the loco pilot, the coach, bearing the seats allotted to us, stopped exactly in its assigned place.

With battery running critically low + no charger at hand,  I pause my thoughts for today.

...to be continued
